Who We Are

GGoldies Radio was born from a lifelong love of music and broadcasting. The idea first took shape in the 1980s, when founder Larry G. Shipp Jr. assembled Pinnacle Communications to purchase KMZQ FM in Las Vegas and launch a stylized “Goldies” format branded as Klassy 100. The station quickly became a #1 Adult 25–54 success and planted the seeds for what Goldies Radio would one day become.

Years later, after the sale of Klassy 100, Larry joined  Braiker Radio Networks in Seattle, as a co-founder, alongside industry legends Ivan Braiker, Rick Sklar of ABC Radio fame, and Pat O’Day, a Seattle broadcasting icon. The network delivered multiple 24 hour formats nationwide — including a Goldies music channel that further shaped the vision.

With decades of experience, a deep personal music collection, and a passion for the timeless hits of the ’50s, ’60s, ’70s, and ’80s, Larry launched Goldies Radio as a 24/7 internet station the moment technology made it possible.

Today, Goldies Radio brings you carefully curated programming, specialty shows, and the songs that defined generations. From Doo Wop to Motown, from the British Invasion to the anthems of the ’70s and ’80s, we celebrate the music that never fades — those Oldies But Goldies.
